Sweden Analysis

Wow, there are cultural powerhouses and then there are cultural power houses, and then there is Sweden. Everything about Sweden’s game is building up a cultural/Great Person engine that will mow along and leaving no one in your wake.

I like that they gave her some bonuses in areas that have not seen a lot of love in the game so far, like for example bonuses to the Themeing Bonus in buildings and wonders. Add to this a bonus in Great People production and a unique building all about Great Works and oh boy, all the cultures.

Though all this focus on culture might make them a soft target, if not for their fantastic Caroleans that get bonus combat for unused movement points. So you can strategically place them across your empire to give some really good zone of control.

Another thing is that the character model of Kristina is really interesting. Like I know rendering hair is not an easy job and here we have long slightly curly locks, and a lot of time and effort has gone into that.

Finally, Sweden introduces unique World Congress Competitions, which is a first for the game and it will be interesting to see if either of the final two Civs go down a similar route.
