TL;DR – While it does not always quite get there, it was still an interesting ride.

After three seasons of trying the gang is finally in the good place, and after all this,
the emotional and social capital to get us here does it actually hold up? Well
no, but then I think it does something a little more important, maybe.
TL;DR – It a show where sex is very much front and centre, however, it is actually the relationships that actually shine through.

Review –
Sex, it is in the name of the show, and if there is any confusion the episode
opens with a very explicit view of two people engaged in it. Pretty much there
is no misunderstanding in the first five minutes as to what you are going to
get with this show. However, as things went on, the one thing that struck me
was how caring it all was.
TL;DR – Honeymoon brings everyone back together, hits all the right beats, and propels the show forward, so a great opening episode of a season.

I have been around long enough that the list of shows that I love that got cancelled
without closure is a decently long list. When it happens you always hear of
trying to get it picked up by another network, but this barely ever happens. So
when Brooklyn Nine-Nine got cancelled,
I lamented the stupid decision, but I knew it was unlikely to change, and if
there was ever a time I was happy to be wrong this is it. Well, now we are back and even more extraordinary
we have a full season pick up, so let’s dive into
the first episode of the season Honeymoon.
TL;DR – The entire universe is against them, but it is here where the show finds its core drive and so many Janets

So far this season, The Good Place has been a bit hit and miss, with a lot of episodes that make you wonder where are they going with this? Add to this, the show started splitting up the group which didn’t fit the tone of the show. The good thing is that even though some episodes were not working, because the show itself is so good it meant that even when an episode didn’t work, it was at least still compelling. Well this week, not only do we come back to form, we get one of the show’s most fascinating episodes to date.
TL;DR – Today we get to see the direction of where Season Three is going, and it is a very cool direction, while also exploring rock bottom for Chidi.

As Season Three has been going on, there has been some concern as to where the show is going, and it did feel like there was still a penny waiting to drop. This week we get to see that penny drop, right when everybody’s plans fall apart and we get to see what happens when you hit rock bottom and how you respond to that.
TL;DR – Season Three blasts forward at the speed of light blowing through what might have been a full season in a single episode

Review –
One of the things that you have to get used to when you watch The Good Place, is how quickly everything moves. Sometimes the show completely changed up its entire structure in a single click of the fingers. It also means that it does not waste any time whatsoever, and sets up premises that a usual sitcom would play out over a bunch of episodes or a whole season, and then resolve it in 20 minutes.
TL;DR – It’s back and it is just as clever and fun as always.

The Good Place, what a little gem of a show this is, a real cracker. When I first watched it I had no idea what I was getting in too, and like everyone else, I was blown away by the direction the show took at the end of Season One. To the point that even now when we are still talking about Season Three I want to be coy about what that changeup was in case someone has not seen it yet. For the last two seasons, I watched it all in a binge watch session, so I am interested to see how it plays out week by week for this season. Well with that in mind, let’s come Down Under say hello and look at Australian universities with flags in every room.
TL;DR – What we get is a series with some interesting moments and characters, but feels more of a prologue to something than a season in its own right

When you think over the parody genre, it is surprising that there are not more quality entries into it. Part of this is because many take the easy way out and just fill their shows with pop-culture references that instantly date them. To really do a parody justice you really have to understand the genre and works you are parodying to an almost obsessive level. These are your Galaxy Quests, and your 22 Jump Streets. Today we take a look at a new series working in this territory Disenchantment which delves into the myriads of tropes around the Fantasy genre, and mostly succeeds. Now we will be looking at the season as a whole, so there will be [SPOILERS] ahead.
TL;DR – An interesting start that gives us a real direction as to the tone and where the series is going.

I was coming into Disenchantment with a bit of a mixed mind as I have an interesting relationship with Matt Groening’s work. When I was growing up we were not allowed to watch The Simpsons so when you did see it at a friend’s place it was this little rebellion, so I hold some of those early episodes to be quite dear to me. However, I can’t tell you the last episode I watched, at this point, I could be over seven seasons behind. On the flip side, while all this was happening Futurama came and went, and then came again and then went again, and I would count it in the top ten TV Shows I have ever seen. So where would Disenchantment fall? Well from the first episode we can see that it is at least going to be interesting.
TL;DR – Safe House shows that five seasons in Brooklyn Nine-Nine is getting better and better, blending humour and emotion into an amazing episode.

Now, I have to say that Brooklyn Nine-Nine might be one of the best gems out there on TV at the moment, and one of the few shows that I actively seek out these days. It is created by Dan Goor & Michael Schur who have been the creative minds behind The Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, Parks and Recreation, The Good Place, and more. So right from the start, you have an amazing creative team that extends out to all the writing staff. As well as this, you have an amazing and diverse cast that is committed to working together as a team. They all have an amazing rapport with each other, which feels effortless. It is from this platform that they keep getting better each season.
