Luke raises a sword in combat.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Review

Well, we have reached the end of season two, the part when loyalties are defined, battles are fought, and futures are determined. The series has been good at building up to this point, but shows have failed in the final execution before; indeed, that has been the very fate of a previous adaptation. Well, will a second chance work for this story? Let’s find out.

So, to set the scene, as Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), Grover (Aryan Simhadri), and Tyson (Daniel Diemer) make their way back to camp, they find out that Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn) never made it to Camp Half-Blood and now monsters and enemy demigods surround. It looks like things are about to fall apart, but never underestimate a Jackson when he is backed into a corner. Now, from here, we will be looking at the episode and season as a whole, so there will be some [SPOILERS] ahead.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: I Go Down With the Ship [S2E7] – TV Review

TL;DR – We get to the pointy end of the season as characters clash together as the gods manipulate from the side-lines.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Disclosure – I paid for the Disney+ service that viewed this series.

Post-Credit Scene – There is a mid-credit scene.

The tree guarding the camp.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Review

We are getting to the final stretch of the season as we enter the penultimate episode, and it is time for all the storylines to start colliding together. It’s a precarious moment, we haven’t even upset a god yet, and time is already ticking on the finale.

So, to set the scene, it is a kind of good news/bad news situation. The good news is that they know where the Fleece is, and they have escaped the clutches of the Cyclops, oh, and Tyson (Daniel Diemer) is still alive. The bad news is that Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) had to watch Percy (Walker Scobell) give the Fleece to their enemy, Luke (Charlie Bushnell), and he also stole a wounded Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) with him. Now the Golden Fleece is resting on the tomb of Kronos (Nick Boraine), and soon he will be resurrected from Tartarus to wreak havoc on the world. Now, from here, we will be looking at the episode as a whole, so there will be some [SPOILERS] ahead.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Clarisse Blows Everything Up [S2E4] – TV Review

TL;DR – We get reminded again how good the casting has been in this series, and also what the stakes are, because you never know when things are going to explode.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Disclosure – I paid for the Disney+ service that viewed this series.

Post-Credit Scene – There is a mid-credit scene.

Clarisse and Percy fight.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Review

Well, we have heard a lot about the Sea of Monsters, but so far, we have been spending a lot of time not actually visiting it. Well, that all changes today, because cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war, because nothing will stop Percy when he is on a quest.

So, to set the scene, a long time ago, Luke was a demigod on the run from monsters with a young Annabeth (Marissa Lior Winans) in his care. They were hiding in a sewer to escape cyclopes that were chasing them and Thalia (Tamara Smart). It is a great sadness for Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) because Thalia never made it to Camp Halfblood. But it may be an illegal quest, but everyone is on board, right up until the part where Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn) blows up their boat. Now, from here, we will be looking at the episode as a whole, so there will be some [SPOILERS] ahead.

Resident Evil: Season 1 – TV Review

TL;DR – This is a silly, over-the-top, ridiculous show in all the right ways …until its not.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Disclosure – I paid for the Netflix service that viewed this episode.

Welcome to New Raccoon City.

Resident Evil Review

When the original Resident Evil video game came out, I didn’t have a PlayStation, so I was tangentially aware of it and probably watched someone play it at some point. Still, I would never consider myself a fan at any moment and never had the drive to try and work out the convoluted lore built up over the years. But then the films came out, and at least the first couple were … let’s say engaging, but then they got … well, they got Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. I don’t think it would be hard to say that I was not chopping at the bit for a new Resident Evil TV Series, but then I watched one episode out of interest … and ended up watching them all.

So to set the scene, we opened in a ruined London in 2036, 14 years after the world ended. There are probably only 300 million people left on Earth in small walled communities or the few remaining nations like Fortress Scandinavia or the Umbrella Corporation. But there are 6 billion zombies or zeroes infected by the T-Virus ready to rip anyone’s throat. In a small research camp, Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska) has spent six months researching the Zeroes to see if the virus is mutating and allowing more cognitive control when she accidentally cuts herself and becomes a target for the horde. Back in 2022, three months before the fall, Jade (Tamara Smart), her sister Billie (Siena Agudong), and her father, Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick), have just arrived in their new home in New Raccoon City in South Africa. It has a bland, corporate feeling, but behind the scenes, the new boss of the Umbrella Corporation, Evelyn Marcus (Paola Núñez), is pushing hard to get the new drug Joy delivered to the market. The only issue is just what did happen at their plant in Tijuana? Now from here, we will be looking at the episode and season as a whole, so there will be some [SPOILERS] ahead.
