Ok before we start I am going to try my best to have no spoilers in this review, but you should be warned that while I may try my best there may be a couple of little tidbits throughout this review. Movie Review – The Last Witch Hunter

TL;DR – Honestly a bit of a disappointment

Review

I honestly don’t know where this film went wrong, it has a good cast, it clearly has talent working behind the scenes and it has an interesting premise, but in the end, it kind of feels like we have a movie that is just paint by numbers.

Movie Review – John Wick

TL;DR – A really good action flick and an example of world building done right.

Score – 5 out of 5 stars

Review

John Wick has been out on DVD/Digital Download for some time and with a sequel now on the cards, I thought I would have a look back at one of the better action films in recent times.

The basic plot of John Wick is that the titular character John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is a man who was once in deep in the Russian mob, and through an impossible act he freed himself and settled down with his new love, only for her to pass away. Movie Review – Spy

TL;DR – It is a film that does not know if it wants to be a PG family action film, or an R raunchy exercise, and ends up being neither

Score – 2 out 5 Stars

Review

In the end, my feeling on this film are quite mixed, some aspects of it really worked and others just really didn’t. I would describe this movie as a collage, where the writer/director Paul Feig has taken ideas from a number of movies and melded it all together into this film, and not always successfully. To explain what I mean, I going to break down the different components of the film, and yes this is about to get spoilery (You have been warned).

Movie Review – Mad Max: Fury Road

TL;DR – A masterpiece of action and cinema, something you should go see just for the spectacle.

Score – 5 out of 5 stars

Review –

Wow, just wow,  George Miller knows how to put on a visual spectacle. Now I should mention at this point that I have never seen any of the other Mad Max’s (outside of those clips you see from time to time on TV) so while I had a basic understanding of the lore, I  (for better or worse) did not come into this film with nostalgia baggage, which is good because you don’t need any of that to enjoy this film.
