Movie Review – Ted 2

TL;DR – There are some interesting ideas here, but the sum of its parts don’t quite add up.

Score – 2 out of 5 stars

Review –

Well this is a difficult film to review because there truly are a couple of really remarkable things that the movie does which really stand out, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t laugh, but ultimately I just left feeling that it’s just a bit meh.

Movie Review – Terminator Genisys

TL;DR – A Bit of fun, and a good watch, if you don’t take it too seriously

Score – 3.5 out of 5 stars

Review –

So the basic premise of all the Terminator films are in the deep dark future of 1994 a computer system called Skynet rose up and nuked the world and now it and the remaining humans are fighting for survival. Skynet feeling that it is losing does what all computers do, cheat and sends back through time a terminator to kill one of the Connors. Since the best film in the series Terminator 2: Judgement Day, we have had one ok but mostly forgettable sequel, one TV series that started strong, got messed with by executives and then finished strong but not strong enough to stave of cancellation and another movie sequel which was a train wreck from start of filming to the end. So how does this film hold up? Not bad, generally speaking.

Movie Review – Tomorrowland

TL;DR – So close to being a great film, but just does not get there, because it takes no care in building the universe it is set in.

Score – 2 out of 5 Stars

Review – Close, but no cigar, Prawie robi wielką różnicę, Knapp daneben ist auch vorbei, Melkein on metri maalista, and 功虧一簣, these are all things I would use to describe Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland is visually impressive, well-acted and has a good message but in the end, it just falls flat.

Movie Review – Spy

TL;DR – It is a film that does not know if it wants to be a PG family action film, or an R raunchy exercise, and ends up being neither

Score – 2 out 5 Stars

Review –

In the end, my feeling on this film are quite mixed, some aspects of it really worked and others just really didn’t. I would describe this movie as a collage, where the writer/director Paul Feig has taken ideas from a number of movies and melded it all together into this film, and not always successfully. To explain what I mean, I going to break down the different components of the film, and yes this is about to get spoilery (You have been warned).

Movie Review – The Avengers: Age of Ultron

TL;DR – Not as good as the first Avengers, but still a great movie and a great addition to this whole experiment

Score – 4 out of 5 stars

Review –

Well phase 2 is almost over (still have Ant Man to go) and the culmination of the last few years has to lead us to this, and you know what, it was bloody good.

Movie Review – The Interview

TL;DR – Fascinating but not really shocking, classic Rogen/Franco film

Score – 3 out of 5 stars

Review –

Ok where to begin, this is a very surreal film, and honestly would have been but a footnote in the careers of the two leads had the controversy with North Korea and Sony not occurred.

Movie Review – Taken 3

TL;DR – What a waste of a movie and a promising franchise

Score 1 out of 5 stars

Taken 3. Image Credit: 20th Century Fox.

Review –

Oh Taken 3 how far have we fallen that we reached here? Before I get into my review of Taken 3 it is important to look at where we have come from. Taken 1 is great, fantastically great, the casting of Liam Neeson was a master stroke, the setting was visceral and it had a real emotional push behind it. It was so good it made you forget just what a stupid set up the premise was if you know anything about human trafficking.
